What is Washi Tape?

Comments are off for this post.
Washi tape is similar to masking tape but much prettier. It is strong but you can tear it as well as cut it. You can also put it on a surface and then remove it or reposition it. It is made from natural fibres most commonly from the bark of trees native to Japan.
I have put it on glass bottles which I have then hand washed four times and it has remained in place but once I want to remove it – off it comes. I have yet to find out how long it will remain on glass but I did this test before decorating the water bottles for my wedding.
Below is an easy Christmas card with washi tape applied as extra detail. It does help that this washi tape is a Stampin’ Up! product (2014-2016 In Color Design Washi Tape) in the colour Mossy Meadow so coordinates perfectly with the Mossy Meadow Card Stock and paper from the Home for Christmas
